Access Guidelines for UC San Diego campus users

General campus requirements for the orange phase:

General requirements for lab work during the orange phase mandated by campus:

  • Do not come to campus if you have any of the symptoms listed on the screening form!

  • Wear a mask / face covering

  • Practice distancing (6 ft)

  • Wash your hands

  • No physical contact

  • Clean surfaces before and after use

  • All work-locations need to be added to your PIs research ramp-up plan - this means the NE-MRC (SME B002 - B010) should be listed in addition to your PIs research labs!

Requirements for lab work during the orange phase specific to the NE-MRC

  • Wear disposable gloves when touching any shared instrumentation

  • Observe posted maximum occupancy limits

Standard NE-MRC procedures still in place:

  • Sign up for a user account in the NE-MRC online scheduling system

  • You will need your UCSD single-sign on information and a valid index number

  • Request training through the FOM system, include a description of your samples and your research goals

  • Provide copies of your laboratory safety training certificates (some instruments will require additional safety training (XRD, RAMAN)
